This is the engraving block and first layer for my Aston Hall print. I have decided to work on a dark background adding lights, this means the key block is first really. This print will contain monoprinted areas - I will ink up the block creatively and then try to repeat that for all 25 prints. It will be a painterly print with small variations within the edition.
Started my next print which is of Aston Hall. Hard not to think of the work of printmaker Ed Kluz when visiting this beautiful pile.
The composition is similar to the photograph above, with the lodge in the foreground and the Hall beyond.
Quicker to build it than make the print of it methinks. Nearly there now though. Need to wait for the many layers to dry before putting on the house sparrows flying through.
Printmaker on a mission. 100 + prints of Brum inspired by Hiroshige.
