My latest print in progress is a view from my car. Chinese New Year came round and I hot footed it to Brum centre. It was absolutely tipping it down and the ring road was at a standstill. My anticipated images of the celebrations ended up a bit glum.
Having said that I'm really pleased with the print. It will be framed by my car window, complete with speedometer reading 0 mph.
The rain drops have proved to be a challenge but they are starting to work and be a real strength of this particular print. I'm going to emphasise the red brake lights a little more and put some reflections on the car bonnet.
The print has been created largely as a monoprint with some linocut. I'm thinking that perhaps I will create the car interior as either engraving or lino.
