This print has challenged me from the start. I loved the colours as I was working on it and I decided to do the fox using chine colle with gampi tissue stuck down with the traditional cornstarch glue.
I want to change the detail on the tree and make it match the level of detail seen on the gravestone.
As a whole it reminded me of a stage set as I was creating it and the red tree does look like a red curtain. Out of all of the prints so far it pays the greatest homage to Hiroshige's series, with the composition and the use of strong colour.
I would like to simplify in my next print. I would quite like a large quiet area with a small section of detail. Next print: Birmingham half marathon.
